Are YOU a caring person with a positive outlook and a passion for child abuse prevention? The Crisis Nursery may be your next step to a fulfilling career!
Our Nurseries are located in St. Louis and St. Charles County, and operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
The Crisis Nursery has five Nurseries employing Intake Counselors and Children’s Program Assistants. Our staff do not provide daycare; rather they provide around-the-clock nurturing with lots of love and hugs in a calming and therapeutic environment. We provide Art and Play Therapy as part of our holistic care to minimize the adverse effects of a stressful situation or traumatic experience for children using the Nursery services.
The Nursery also has Community Outreach Locations in St. Louis and St. Charles Counties that serve as a home base to our Family Empowerment Counselors, who support and assist families in creating a stable environment for their children. Our counselors affect change in family dynamics, intervening early to minimize risk factors for children.

The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery is committed to diversity, and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment at the Crisis Nursery is based upon individual merit and qualifications. We don't discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy status, gender, age, marital status, disability, genetic medical condition, sexual orientation, or any other characteristics protected by law or ethics. What Happens When You Apply
The Crisis Nursery is blessed to have many, many more applications than we have positions.
For this reason, the first ‘round’ of review simply looks for evidence that an applicant meets all requirements. For example, most positions require that the applicant have at least one year paid experience caring for children. If the experience is NOT evident on your resume, application or mentioned in your cover letter, you will not be provided further consideration.
If the minimum requirements are met and there is an opening that matches your location preference and availability, you will be placed in a group to be considered for a phone screening. If a phone screening is completed, qualified applicants are placed in a pool for consideration. Hiring supervisors then contact the applicants whose skills and experience best fit the needs of their position opening. Applicants under serious consideration will be subject to at least two face-to-face interviews before a hiring offer.
Please note: We are smoke and tobacco-free on all premises operated by the Crisis Nursery.
The Crisis Nursery requests that body art be covered, and body piercings
(except in the ear lobes) be removed during working hours.
Minimum of One-Year caring for children
is required for all positions unless otherwise stated.
