✨ Dreams Do Come True: A Mural That Tells Our Story ✨

In mid July, something truly magical happened at our Centene Nursery. We unveiled a breathtaking new mural created by local artist Joseph Black, and it’s more than just a piece of art—it’s a vibrant reflection of the heart and soul of our Crisis Nursery community.

A Story in Every Stroke

Inspired by the phrases “A little bird told me…” and “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” the mural features a young girl being gently guided by a cardinal—a symbol of hope, transformation, and resilience. It’s a visual representation of what we believe at Saint Louis Crisis Nursery: that when we walk alongside families with compassion and care, we all thrive.

Celebrating 39 Years of Impact

As we celebrate 39 years of service, this mural stands as a tribute to every child, parent, supporter, and staff member who has helped shape our journey. Together, we’ve achieved:

  • 🍋 5.7 million hours of emergency care

  • 🍋 142,400 children kept safe and supported

  • 🍋 14,425 days of 24/7 care

  • 🍋 98% of parents reached their safety and stability goals

These numbers represent lives changed, futures protected, and communities strengthened.

A Lasting Legacy

We are deeply grateful to Joseph Black for sharing his powerful vision with us. His mural now lives as a permanent reminder of the strength, wisdom, and growth that define our mission.

To everyone who joined us for the mural reveal—our incredible Board members, dedicated staff, and passionate community members—thank you. Your presence made the evening unforgettable.
