Volunteer Requirements & Process

Thank you for your interest in supporting the children and families of the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery! Please review the information below, then select the location where you would like to volunteer to begin your application.

Before You Apply:

Volunteers must: 

• Be at least 14 years old. Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must also complete a volunteer application.

• Respect children’s privacy and approach families with empathy and without judgment.

1. Complete the full application process: 

• Application 

• Background screening required. Please do not schedule or pay for fingerprinting independently. The Nursery will provide instructions after your volunteer application has been received.

• Medical form (completed within the last 6 months) 

2. Submit 3 required Missouri state forms (linked on the application page)

3. Email or mail your forms to the appropriate Volunteer Coordinator

4. After all forms are received, a Nursery Volunteer Coordinator will email fingerprinting instructions. Please do not schedule fingerprinting independently.

5.  Once all materials have been approved, your Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule orientation.

Please allow 1–2 weeks for Missouri state form processing due to state screening timelines.
