Volunteer Spotlight
Celebrating Our Incredible Volunteers!
April was Volunteer Appreciation Month, and at the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, our hearts are full. We are endlessly grateful for the time, care, and heart our volunteers pour into every moment—from helping with holiday parties to collecting diapers, from watching movies with little ones to offering professional expertise. On April 24, we were honored to celebrate so many of you at our 39th Annual Kids Awards. Longtime volunteer Monica Wilmsen reminded us all why this work matters so deeply when she said, “Ultimately, my why is that the Nursery, ever so generously, provides me the means by which I can pursue my own mission.”
💙Thank you for being an integral part of our mission—
and for making this community stronger with every act of kindness.💙
Clayton Seniors Show Up Big!
Shoutout to the awesome Clayton High School seniors who brought their energy, teamwork, and great attitudes to the Nursery! This fun and hardworking group helped move, sort, and put away tons of donations from our recent drives, then jumped right in to help clean up the playground and give our Nursery some extra love. We’re so grateful for your time, effort, and big hearts—thank you for making such a difference!
Building a Better Day—
One Project at a Time!
A huge thank you to the incredible team from Solutions AEC for their amazing day of service at the Nursery! As experts in MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) solutions, they brought their problem-solving skills and big hearts to our space—laying out new mulch, assembling cribs, reorganizing diapers, sorting donations, stocking the food pantry, creating food bags, and so much more. Your hard work made a huge impact, and we’re so grateful for your continued partnership and support!
Shining Bright with Kindness!
High fives all around to our wonderful neighbors at Immanuel Lutheran School! Two classes stopped by on their Shine Day recently and delivered birthday bags and hygiene kits. What a bright spot in our day at the Nursery! Your generosity will bring joy, comfort, and smiles to the children and families we serve. We’re so grateful for your kindness and for shining your light so close to home!
Digging In for a Great Cause!
Big kudos to the incredible volunteers from St. Charles Community College on their Day of Service! Each year, this dedicated group rolls up their sleeves to support the Nursery, and this year was no different—they tackled yardwork, cleaned up the playground, and helped deep clean our space to keep it safe and welcoming. We’re so grateful for your continued partnership and heart for service!
To all of our volunteers—thank you for sharing your time, heart, and talents with the Nursery—you are a vital part of this mission, and we’re so grateful for you.
